Orangeville lawyer-linguist Suzanne Deliscar is teaching two upcoming webinars for legal translators.

The first, The Language of Contracts: Reading and Understanding Contracts, will be held today. This two-hour course will dissect the standard clauses and terminology found in legal contracts. It’s an advanced course for experienced legal translators and has been approved for two American Translators Association Continuing Education (CE) points.

More specifically, this advanced course will analyze the structure of legal contracts in order to assist legal translators. It is designed for experienced translators who will learn how to draft contract clauses in their target language(s). At the end of this course, attendees will be able to identify the various standard clauses in a contract. Attendees will also receive multiple precedent contracts, as well as a course workbook.

The second one, The Language of Legal Correspondence: Reading and Understanding Legal Communications will be held on Sept. 25.
